Thank you for your emails letting me know that I never finished the story I started sharing. I guess WordPress on the iPhone is less reliable than I thought.
So I know you’ve been waiting for the conclusion of my situation…
Here’s where I left off: Then another month passed and I called again. I told the nurse about the previous conversation and the lack of change. Nothing can cover them up and frankly they look darker I told her. She told me that some of the marks were pre-cancerous and that’s why they had to be removed. Yes, she just dropped that on me over the phone. Never was that term mentioned prior to my call. I was feeling more annoyed now. So I told her, pre-cancerous? Shouldn’t I have been made aware of that? She was dismissive and suggested I see the doctor again for him to see what these marks looked like.
So not only was the fact that these scars can take up to a year to fade kept from me (which may have had an impact on my decision to have the skin things removed) but also that they were pre-cancerous.
So I made an appointment to see the doctor. Now I don’t know about you, but I hate waiting so for me to go is a big deal.
I walk in and they immediately request payment. I feel pretty annoyed at this point about the situation and quickly remind them that it wasn’t my problem that required this visit and I see no reason for having to pay for it ($40 co-pay). They tell me it’s just the way it is – everyone has to pay. I tell them I’m quite certain they can do something about the inconvenience they’ve caused me on many levels, or do they need my $40 to pay for the fancy new building they’re in?
I didn’t end up paying.
I wait and wait and finally I’m seen. He looks over my face and applied some more cold stuff on one area and gave me some medicine that supposed to lighten the dark scars. The pre-cancerous thing seems to not be a big deal to him so I guess I shouldn’t worry. He wants to see me back in 6 weeks. I still look ridiculous. The scars are not lightening and what am I supposed to do now?
