All day I feel like a machine, running at 100%. Maximizing output and production, I refuel with caffeine and keep plugging along like a hamster on a wheel in circles.

Sometimes I feel like wonder woman as I cross off everything on my list…before lunch. On Monday for example, I did the following before noon:
1. Prepared all the lunches for the boys for the week while making a kick-ass breakfast
2. Drove kids to school
3. Made 2 lasagnas and 1 corn chowder (for families I know who have an I’ll loved one)
4. Went to the gym
5. Went to the grocery store
6. Dropped and picked up the dog from the groomer
7. Went to the bank
8. Did some work

I forgot my point of this post- but my forgetting reminded me that the point is that with doing all this- we lose something. Maybe a little sanity or maybe a little of ourselves or both.

I’m not sure that being a superhero is really the best example for our boys. It’s certainly not something that can be maintained without potentially causing harm to your physical and mental well-being, is it? I want my boys to work hard, have a good work ethnic, set achievable goals and accomplish them and have fun too.

On Monday, in the midst of all I accomplished, I forgot about the part of having fun. I was with my 3 year old and what was fun about being with a type-a mom/crazed lunatic? Sometimes I feel so focused, I forget to let loose a little.

Today I has a similar day and after making a yummy dinner for my family, I sat alone eating mine out of a dinosaur bowl. It was peaceful after hubby brought the boys to bed to just sit and rest after all the cleanup was over. But this is certainly not the answer.
