The holidays are officially over. I still need to take down my decorations but I just ate the last of the cookies.
It’s cold, snowy, dreary and while it’s nice to get back into a regular routine, now what? Its been too wet to play or ice skate outside. I don’t just want them vegging out in front of the tv and I don’t allow them to play video games Monday thru Thursday. I feel cabin fever kicking in and I need some fun activities for boys!

Here are a few suggestions I came across that you might like:
If you live in a snowy area:
– Snowtubing
– Cross-country skiing
– Snowshoeing
– Downhill skiing
– Ice-skating
– Sledding
– Snowmobiling
In my area, there are some really fun winter festivals with outdoor activities for kids of all ages. Check your local community event listing to see what festivals and winter events can be found near you. If you want to let us know about an event in your area that your family enjoyed, we’d love to hear about it.
If you’re not in a winter wonderland area but still need ideas for indoor activities, here’s a few for you:
– Visit your local botanical garden, butterfly or aviary conservatory.
– Do you have a planetarium in your area?
– Paintball
– Bowling
– Museum (of art, science, history…)
– Do you have a children’s museum in your area?
– Have a beach party… inside!
– Learn local area trivia with your kids
– Board games
– Have an indoor camp out!
– Rearrange the furniture in your children’s rooms
– Cook with your kids
– Get your kids to help organize
Most of all, have fun!
