I’m so upset right now… if you could see me, you might actually see smoke coming out of my nose and ears like in the cartoons.
It’s popcorn selling time for my boy’s Cub Scouts. This year, we really worked the neighborhood and sold our buns off. They actually did the selling, I just walked with them. They called the relatives and even a few far away friends asking (reluctantly I might add) for support. I roped them into doing this by dangling the carrot of the prizes they could win…and it worked, so they sold.
Well now it’s time to take all the orders and money and to turn it in to the popcorn chairs. I was so proud of myself, not only did the boys do their job and sell, but I had a very organized system for keeping all the records together. It was really easy.
So I go to turn everything in. I bring my “system” and brag about how awesome we are. I hand over the money and one list, then I feel panic…I an unable to find the other lists. Filled with names and orders, I now realize I’m completely screwed! What and how and I going to recover this info?!
I search through the house. The garage. The car. Nothing. I wait hoping that prayers to St. Anthony (he’s said to be the Saint that helps you find lost items…I’ll try anything at this point)…it doesn’t work. I never found the lists. Maybe one if the little guys went into my Scouts stuff? I have no idea- all I know is that now I have major connect-the-dots to do…and I have no idea where to begin.
Orders are due Saturday, so I suspect my boys won’t be to thrilled, but we have a week of investigating ahead if us. Yep! Calling all the neighbors and figuring out what they ordered! Not looking forward to this. I have nobody else to blame I guess, because as much as it’s their project, it’s my responsibly (and Hubby who helped too) to manage it.
Keep your fingers crossed- I guess my system wasn’t so great after all! Suggestions are welcome:(
