I’ve said this before and I hate to sound repetitive, but as a woman – it’s obvious that I’ll never know what it’s like to be a man. While I love to enjoy a good hockey game, I might not be interested in all the boys stuff – all the time. But…I try to appreciate it as I sincerely feel that by trying, I’m connecting – or at least creating an opportunity to connect with my little men. Having said that, they will never know what it’s like to be a girl – but that doesn’t stop me from at least trying to expose my boys to things I enjoy but might seem a little more girlie.
Here’s a perfect example…tickets go on sale on Friday, November 25th for Disney on Ice’s Treasure Trove at the First Niagara Center (near where I live). As a child, I used to figure skate, so I always enjoy going to these shows and I see no reason why my boys can’t enjoy a Disney on Ice show too. According to the reviews, “Treasure Trove is an action-packed ice adventure that takes audiences on a journey through their favorite stories from Disney animated features. Brave a battle against Captain Hook and his pirate pals with Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, trek across the Pride Lands with Simba, Timon and Pumbaa, and enter the whimsical world of Wonderland to witness a precision skating number by the Queen of Hearts’ Army of Cards in this extraordinary lineup from the Disney animated film vault.” This doesn’t sound too girlie, does it?
By the way, I fully intend to take the boys to the Nutcracker. I really feel that it’s important that children go to see artistic performances as it helps to create a well-rounded person.
