It’s a lovely morning – crisp and bright. Not too hot and not too cold. The kind of day I could sleep until noon. Cozy and comfy in my toasty bed. YUM!
Yeah, right. That’s a dream. It’s Monday and my boys still have school.
Some mornings it’s just so tough to get them up. They resist, whine and complain. Everything becomes a big issue. What to wear, what’s for breakfast, blah – blah – blah.
This was one of those mornings. Boy #2 was not having anything to do with school. He just laid in bed. And complained. This woke the baby who woke #3 who was set on getting out his new markers and coloring bright and early. He screamed a little which was a nice addition in the early hours. Boy #1 was upset with me because I told him to change his shirt. He wanted to wear a shirt that is really a play shirt – not something to be worn to school. I have rules about looking presentable and trashy clothes are to be worn for play – not school. So he was mad.
Eventually they all came downstairs. The bus comes at 7:35. They came down at 7:20. So we had cereal and fruit. Thank goodness they made the bus – barely but nonetheless.
Some days are just a struggle to get myself motivated let alone the 2 older guys to get ready for school. I understand them not wanting to get up. To be honest, I felt the same way today.
In the end it was all fine. We have several lovely pictures that #3 made and #2 let his lunch on the counter – so now I need to drop it off at school.
Check back tomorrow for a new travel article!!
