Above is a photo of my last boy and I cuddling on the couch after the other boys head off to school. I have two more years before he goes to kindergarten and I intend to enjoy every minute of it. The moment his school bus arrives, I’ll be a complete wreck- I know it. This year, I watched boy #3 get on the bus and enter the world a “big boy”.

This is the beginning of a new school year and for me, it’s the time I reflect on the year and look at all I want to do, what I’ve done and where I want to go. Two years ago, I announced it was going to be the “Year of Renee” as I focused on taking a little more care of me. Last year I continued that plan. This year, I’m announcing it will be a “Re-Focus” year.

I want to get back to the basics. Simple activities, more quality time spent with my children, staying healthy as a family, reading more and working to help others. I also want to post more on this blog and get to know you- the readers! On Sunday’s however, I’m going to try to turn everything computer/phone off until the boys go to bed.

I feel like I’ve completely been sucked in by a whirlwind- I’m spinning and I can’t touch the ground! Now is the time to find solid ground again. Take a breather and enjoy every drop of life I can absorb.

Do you create similar goals at this time of year? If so, what are some things you hope to do?
