Last night after the 2 little boys went to bed, I had to look for a photo of boy #2 from when he was little for a school project. Unfortunately, a few months ago, I lost a bunch of photos from the boys early years. Long story about how – but basically computer back-up issues of my photos and voila! they were whisked away into never-neverland!
So together the 2 older boys and I searched in a big box where I store some photos and wow, what a rush of memories.
It seems like yesterday I was running with my first baby boy in his green jog stroller. His big smile, big cheeks and curly hair. It brings tears to my eyes, I get so emotional about watching them grow up. I’m not sure why really. I guess I want to remember each and every moment and cherish their sweetness. As they’re getting older, they need me less and less and as a mom…I’ve put so much into helping to make them who they are. I guess their growing up is bittersweet to me. It’s also tied into my getting older too. Ten years flew by…did I do what I’d hoped? Am I where I want to be? Have I been a great mother, wife, friend? Where will I be in 10 more years? Where will my boys be? Will they be the responsible, respectful and confident boys I’m trying to raise?
Looking at these photos brought all these thoughts to my mind. Plus, it was interesting to see their baby pictures and how similar boy #2 and 4 look like as babies. We had fun talking about what our lives were like in our old house. Our routines, our friends and the space we called our home.
In the end, we found a super cute photo of Boy #2 for his project. What do you think? Am I overly emotional or do you feel the same at times??
