Summer ends as of tomorrow. I am mostly excited about this, but there’s a sort-of sadness for the end of the summer of 2009. Time flies! I have no idea where the time went or what we did. After surveying the boys, they told me how much fun they had this summer. We didn’t over-commit overselves to scheduled activities, instead we had an easy, lazy summer. It was simple fun like what I recall from my childhood – and it worked.

Unfortunately, we had a lot of bad weather this summer so the boys are ready for a change. They’re excited about seeing their friends, they both like their teachers and they’re ready to take-on a new adventure.

Having children of the same sex close in age is great for play dates. They hardly required organized play dates because they always have one another to play with anytime they want. Sure they get on each other’s nerves sometimes, but being together, finding things to do and learning to get along helps to create a stronger bond.
