Serena Williams and Unsportsmanlike Attitudes

In my opinion, unsportsmanlike attitudes are not acceptable. I can’t think of one good example where they could fit in any game.

I love tennis and Serena Williams is, in my book,  an amazing athlete, but watching her outburst in Saturday night’s match against Kim Clijsters was such a disappointment. My oldest was with me when I watched the coverage this morning on the Tennis Channel and discussing her unsportsmanlike behavior with him was one more in a long line of athletes who has demonstrated bad behavior recently. Whether on or off the field, court or ice, athletes are in the public eye and need to remember that. I’ll write more about this topic as it relates specifically to boys later this week so check back.

What to expect from MRB this week (not in any order):

  • Unsportsmanlike behavior and our sports figures
  • Family Travel Review on Cape Codder Resort & Spa
  • Conversations with MRB: Episode 4
  • Circumcision

Some Serena facts for you: According to Wikipedia, “Serena Jameka WilliamsAmerican professional tennis player and a partial owner of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. I’m heading out for a biking adventure with the 4 boys. We’re packing up the trailer and going to local playgrounds, stopping at a birthday party, and grabbing some snacks. We’ll be back for dinner…they’ll be exhausted and I can get a workout in, yippee!!

Thankful for Happiness

These four boys have no idea how they’ve changed my life for the better. They may be a few years older now (hopefully I’m a little wiser) but I’m thankful everyday to be their mom. Thankful too for the man who has been my partner on this journey. Family is everything...
