What’s Wrong With People?!: Parental Responsibility

I was running down a busy city street when I came to a red light. It was a gorgeous day. The sun was out, it was cool but comfortable. People were driving with their windows open, enjoying the what might be one of the last days of wonderful fresh air before the cold weather kicks in. As my friend and I were approaching the red light, I could feel the thump – thump – of the bass pounding as the car rolled towards the signal. Boom – Boom….it was loud raunchy rap. Loud enough that it bothered my being a few feet from the vehicle…

The problem is that as it came to a stop, my heart sank as I could see the bouncing of baby activity gear  attached to a carseat through the back door window. In fact, there were 2 young children in the car…and oblivious, irresponsible parents in the front seat…What is wrong with people?

This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced the same scene. Is there something wrong with me for being overly sensitive to anything that might harm or compromise the quality of life for an innocent child? Or is this behavior as bad as I think it is? Why would someone potentially harm their infant’s hearing? What makes people think this is ok?…

By the way, did you know that Boys have worse hearing than girls and may lose attention simply because they can’t hear.

What do you think?
